Ah, I love late spring!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a winter kind of girl. I love the days with snow covered grounds. The sun shining brightly off the surface makes everything white, pure, and beautifully blinding. Reminds me of fresh starts. My second favorite season? Late spring. It's not quite summer and grotesquely hot. Maybe that's what I like most. The days are warm but the breeze still brings forth a coolness. The evenings are perfect for keeping your windows open and enjoying the sounds and smells that find their way in. Flowers are blooming; tulips my favorite to look at and lilacs my favorite to smell! Ah, I love late spring!

It surprises me sometimes how little moments make such a difference in my life. Just this morning I ran some errands and as I was walking home a since of calm and stillness came over me. The sun was shining, the smell of spring was in the air. You know the ones, blooming flowers, water, (I don't know what it is, but I really like the smell of sprinkler water.) and a new smell that I've come to enjoy, the wafting scent of fresh cinnamon rolls from the bakery. Main street was busy with people doing the same thing as I. I was reading fliers for all the upcoming town events and mentally marking them on my calender so I don't forget. Then that's when it hit me, I love this place. Yes, it's small. Yes, it's lonely sometimes. Yes, sometimes I want more, I want bigger. But for now, this is home. It took my breath away.

My life is...beautiful.

Have a lovely day. My wish for you today, I hope you find what takes your breath away.

Living today to make a difference,
~Kayt the Great~
