Macaroni and Spoons?

This is my adventure for the day. It is not much, but one that absolutely boggled my mind. This evening I was at work. I made supper at work. As we all know my cooking skills aren't much I tend to stick to things that are pre-made. Since I was at work, this goes smoothly, I then just heat things up in the microwave. Tonight, I took a packet of Easy-Mac. For those of you who don't know, Easy-Mac is microwavable macaroni and cheese. You boil the noodles in the wave for 3 minutes then you mix in powdered cheese. I used to live on it when I was younger. These days, I'd rather make it homemade. (Funny thing is, mac and cheese is one of the few meals I can make, and make well!) Anyways, I forgot to bring an eating utensil with me, so I scrounged for one and came up with a plastic spoon. I didn't think much about this, until I went to eat. As I go to take my first bite, it hits me. I NEVER eat mac and cheese with a spoon. I can not remember in my whole life when I have ever eaten mac and cheese with a spoon by choice. If I ever have it's because someone fed it to me when I was incapable of feeding myself. It was the oddest sensation. I couldn't get the spoon to pick up the noodles, and when I put it in my mouth it just felt...weird. In my book, spoons are used for eating cereal, ice cream, and soup. This got me to thinking. "Why do I not eat many foods with spoons?" Here is my answer. I don't like spoons. Simple. They do not fit in my mouth. Heck they don't fit in any mouth properly. You can shape your mouth around a fork to slide the food off, but a spoon, try to shape your mouth around that. Impossible! And so awkward. Think about it just for a second. Think of the last time you ate solid (ice cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.) food off of a spoon. When you pulled that spoon out, was it completely clear of food? Mine never are. That bugs me. I like forks.

As they say, "spooning leads to forking." :)
Too true, for me. Use spoons at minimum, I want the fork!
